Its go time!

  • Jul. 3rd, 2011 at 8:14 AM

Well here I am again sitting posting to a blog I don't think anyone really reads anymore but its cheaper than therapy! The pressure is on now, we have so much more to pack and move and paint that I don't know if we will get it all done!
Worried about once we get there if this house is really ours or a scam? Haven't seen the inside of it just the outside. Its hard house hunting when your 900 miles away from the place! Haven't heard back from the agent since the lease and check were sent. Big worries there! If it happens I'm right its something we can deal with I'm sure. Susan is a pretty strong woman sometimes too strong but strong none of the less! I just wish before she nags at me (I have had a lifetime of it and pretty tired of it now) she would turn the mirror to face herself and see that she does some of the same things she accuses myself and the girls of doing. But don't accuse her of it or be prepared to get the eye! lol

Finding work is another hurdle that I need to jump on as soon as we are there so the wife can stop saying they have to rely on me. Gets old, its hard for me to keep grinning through that , ok so its true but once I'm working I hold my end up but never seem to get recognized for that. I guess I'm just feeling the pressure of the cross country move,. leaving what friends and family i have here. My family consist of a couple of cousins and a sister who I haven't spoken too in over 9 years. So it really isn't that -I don't know argghh just frustrated !

The long drive with the cats and a very new driver also has my mind playing all these scenerios! The weather forecast for our departure date on the 6th of July, is rain and storms. We are breaking the drive up into two days. So that will help.

The pain in my knees and back are getting worse. Hopefully the generic Tyneol keeps the level down on it. I feel the move will hurt them a lot more than anticipated, but we have no other options.
Well faithful reader he he he he I will update again after the move!

Hope life can settle down and the family life can be like it was in the past joyful and loving.

Well here we go again------lol

Hey readers, haven't posted on here in quite awhile, guess I had nothing to get off my chest except the man boobs! LOL Quit laughing Cherie!--LOL!

Last Wednesday I went to the Doc for my check up--not so much good news.I have gained 18 pounds in one years time, my blood pressure was 156 over 110, yikes. Not good! Been eating like I cant get full. Damn chemical imbalance in the noggin me thinks.

We had a long discussion on how to cure this and yes medicine came into the conversation!
Now growing up as the "fat" kid in school, I did my share of diets and diet pills (Speed, only made me eat faster) LOL. So I wasn't happy but I needed a push off point and I think I made the right decision.

He prescribed a water pill and a diuretic. Appetite has subsided by half maybe, 3/4 and the brain this time is playing along. I'm making better choices when I do eat. No sweets, no cookies perse (come on--I work at Mrs Fields ) but more on that in my next post. And drinking tea instead of soda (my weakness)! :0)

So its been since April 1st that I have done this program-self inflicted I might add! *smiles* I'm not hungry at night as much as I was, no chips and dip, no heavy fruit or snacks after 9 pm. I think I got my head on straight but one reason I posted was so I had some encouragagement and support from family and friends. It will make this journey unforgettable!

Actually had a bad dream where I died because of getting back and beyond my 510 lbs I was at before my weight surgery in 98. I love my family enough to work hard once again at becoming healthy and live a long time! The clencher last night was , when my 8 year old daughter after spending a day at Chuckie Cheese with me and have a great day said when asked "what was your favorite part of the day today Tater? She looked at me and said," Just being with you!"
Gotta go a wipe the tear from my eye---until the next post Tootles from Doodles

Ten Years and Counting

  • Aug. 13th, 2009 at 8:44 PM

Today Aug. 13th at 7pm will be my 10th wedding anniversary with my loverly wife! We sure have had our ups and downs like most couples with some extras we didn't need, but we stuck by each other and that's what counts the most!
I personally have alot to thank her for--the first thing is my daughter and the kids she brought with her into my life! She gave me hope and a light where the tunnel was very dark indeed. The first 3 years we were married there were no fights, no huge disagreements and no loud voices. Ok we just need a bit of time and all those came around but we stuck by each other and that's what counts.
A few years ago i gave her 11 real roses and one artifical one. With this, I also penned a poem called the Ode for a Forever Rose. I place it here for all to see and maybe pass the thought along to your loved ones. Like John Lennon once said, " Yoko, wheres me damn cigarettes!"
And now

Ode for a Forever Rose

Our love is like a forever rose,
Its beauty, its strength will be our prose.
Of color and fragrance it shall always be,
To show our love and to give it free.

With compassion and compromise we shall give,
By truly loving each other we shall live!
Our kids, our home our lives together,
Make each day with you, a joy, a pleasure.

As the years of our love lay in wait,
A symbol of my love for you I bait.
A sculpted flower of green and red
Of natural beauty it shall wed.
Amongst the eleven that are real,
Its beauty hath the same appeal.

But this rose is different ,it has a meaning,
To remind you of my heart that’s beaming
So the eleven will journey into the past,
The twelfth will most surely last.
Like our love as the story goes
It will always be like a forever rose!

Happy Anniversary Sweetheart!
I love you Susan with all my heart!

Loss

It saddens me to sit here and mourn for my brother David who passed yesterday from complications do to a long illness. Being quadraplegic too was a factor but Dave lived with that for over 30 years.
He was an activist on stem cell and other important issues on disabilties.

I never really knew David or our older brother Doug. They are half brothers who I never really had contact too until 2004 when I was traveling with Culpepper-Meriweather Circus. I got to spend about 2 hours with them both and that has been the last time I seen David and or Doug. I had planned on "surprizing" them and Mom Helen many times but cash flow and timing just wasn't in the cards. Guilt, yup a lot right now!

David and I would keep in touch with each other from emails and phone calls, but over the last couple of years those were sparadic at best.
The worst is not having the funds to be at his memorial next Sunday! He donated his body to science. The whole family is meeting for this. His half sister called me today and told me about David's passing. I thanked her and asked her to please keep in touch. she said she would!

Going to miss you David! I wish we would have gotten to know each other better!

Love to you up above!

Hooters gig?

  • May. 7th, 2009 at 9:22 AM

Yes friends my Hooter's gig went flat on me very quickly last night! The girls were great, very sexy but the audience sucked! It was mostly men just barely old enough to drink and boy they were taking advantage of that! When I first got the job by answering an ad on Craigslist , the manager told me to keep it light blue material because they are a "family resturant"! Hello--boobies and short shorts everywhere and more silicone than in a superball factory! Any way I degress!
My spots were to be between the evening wear and bikini parts of the contest! My first set half the audience had to pee all at once which in itself was funny because of only two portapotties! No stage lighting and a crappy mic and sound didnt help my situation much either. I have played strip clubs that were more responsive than these guys last night.
The girls were great though! Oops I said that already huh?
My second set I was going to do my variety part and I did one magic trick and was headed for the juggling when the manager/mc rushed me off the stage 10 minutes early. I actually was getting a better response from the crowd because it was more of a street performing kind of crowd and he rushed me off the stage! All I could think was, I'm still getting paid ! I know thats a bad thought but at that juncture it was true! lol
I waited to the judging was over and the manager handed me the dough and off I went!
I know a few friends out there would say it was my fault and not the audiences' but I would beg to differ on that last night. Whenever there is a huge amount of testosterone and beer in the crowd, just bring out the girls!
Well Im going to be a bit more selective on my stand up gigs from now on me thinks? lol

  • Apr. 24th, 2009 at 7:45 PM

Well another fun filled day in the life of a cashier at WalMart! lol Back ie hip is still giving me grief and I'm just wishing it would go away. The wifey says, "it might take awhile you are older you know!"
Thats for sure!

I joined paperbackswap.com. Its pretty kewl. You post books, cd's dvd's on the sites and people who would like them send a request. You pay nothing for the book but shipping postage. They have an automatic system that calculates the cost. If you have the postage at home you just send it from there. Pretty kewl! I have recieved one book and sending out another tomorrow.

Well I know this has been a lame excuse for a post but Im trying to get into the swing of Posting daily !
Have a blast but dont tell the Mrs.! shoosh !ol

I'm backkkkk

  • Apr. 23rd, 2009 at 8:57 AM

Hey, its been along time since I posted on this blog but really I haven't had much to say! I have had some ups and downs health wise but seem to be getting better. Now if I could get rid of this sore back/hip and knee I'd be jake again!

The other day I got to perform my clown show once again. I haven't had a full blown out show since last year. The only thing I didn't do was rola bola because of the hip pain. It was for a boys and girls club in Bathalto IL. About 65 kids were there, I'm assuming that was all the kids in Bathalto! lol

Forty five minute show and all the kids loved it. Once again the wire walker routine killed.
I had to say my goodbyes quickly and fly back to Missouri to pick Susabelle up from her work, take her home clean up and head over to WalMart were I am a part time cashier.
I made it but was a tad late!
Well today is about the same scenerio but the show is in Alton and will have more kids I'm told!

I'm going to try to add to these blog posts daily now--its cheaper than therapy! My friend Steve Copeland is a clown on the Kelly Miller Circus and he blogs daily. He has inspired me to try to do the same! Susabelle as about 4 blogs she writes for , Im not that organized! lol
So once again--I'm Bacckkkkkkk!

Baraboo here we come--again!

  • Sep. 27th, 2008 at 4:40 PM

Its been a long time since I posted on Live journal but really nothing groovy to say- but now!

Last week was very hectic as my wife and daughters and I prepared to travel from High Ridge , Missouri all the way to Baraboo,Wisconsin for the 40th Anniversary of Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey's Clown College in which I am an alumni! I also am a former resident clown of the Circus World Museum where the festivities were being held. A twofold homecoming.

We arrived in Baraboo around 3:30 pm on Wensday the 17th. We made a slight detour and picked up one of my classmates who flew into the Madison Airport. We were staying at the Baraboo Plaza Hotel and my classmate, Chris Seiter had reservations at the Log Lodge. our Clown College discount price was 69.00 a night. The Log Lodge was listed at 59.00 a night but when we took Chris over there (they are next door to each other) the desk person qouted him 100.00 per night. Both of our mouths hit the floor. Then I thought he might have made a mistake thinking Chris and I were sharing a room. I told him I was with my family at another hotel and he only took 10.00 off the quoted price. I told Chris , lets go and we would find him a place. The guy was a jerk and was gouging poor Chris who was freaked, I know I would be.
Chris did find a room at our hotel but had to go to another a couple of days later-more later on that.
We got settled in and headed for the very nice indoor pool and spa! The girls, Chris and I had a blast.
Jimmy Happy Williams a long time resident clown at the museum and dear friend asked to stop by when I was in town. I grabbed Chris and we went to Happy's House. It was great to see Happy and anothe former Ringling Clown, Harpo there. We jack potted and goofed off for an hour or so and then Happy invited us out to Famous dave's barbeque Place up in the Dells. Chris too was invited and excited about getting a free roll!
Famous Dave's is a wonderful bbq place and my wife's favorite place in the world , so she was tickled to hear about the invite.
We all love Happy!
So as Chris and I returned to the hotel we set a time to go over to Greg and Karen DeSanto's home where they were throwing a Welcoming Party for the clownies coming to the Reunion.
More on this and the further adventures of the 40th Anniversary coming soon!
